1. Who we are

AI Knowledge Signal (aiknowledgesignal.io) is a product of Digital Human Assistants, operated by Christopher Foster-McBride. We provide a free URL audit tool, a paid framework download (the AI Knowledge Signal Framework), and a subscription Chrome and Edge browser extension for content scoring and AI visibility analysis.

If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, contact us at support@digitalhumanassistants.io.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the service.

Free audit tool

  • The URL you submit for analysis. This URL is passed to the Anthropic Claude API to perform the audit and is not stored on our servers after the analysis is returned.
  • The content of the page at that URL is fetched at the time of submission, used solely for scoring, and discarded immediately after the audit response is generated.

Chrome and Edge extension

  • Account details. The extension requires a subscriber account. We store your email address, a bcrypt hash of your password (the password itself is never stored or visible to us), and a record of the license key you redeemed at activation. A session token is stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) to keep you signed in for up to 30 days; it is cleared when you log out or reset your password.
  • Content you submit. URLs you scan, text you paste, and documents you upload are transmitted to aiknowledgesignal.io for analysis. Content is processed in real time and is not stored on our servers after the score is returned. Uploaded documents are converted to text for scoring and discarded.
  • Usage records. We retain the scores and timestamps of your audits — not the content itself — so the extension's Insights panel can show your history, averages, and improvement over time. Prompt libraries, saved prompts, and competitor names you save for the AI Share of Voice and YouTube Share of Voice tools are stored with your account so they persist between sessions. Feedback you submit (star rating and optional comment) is stored to improve the product.
  • Browser access. The extension does not read or transmit your browsing history or the content of pages you visit, and it does not inject code into web pages. The browser "tabs" permission is used only to open and restore the extension's own panel as a full browser tab. The optional right-click menu sends only text you have explicitly selected and chosen to score.
  • The extension communicates only with aiknowledgesignal.io.

Framework purchase

  • Your email address, collected by Stripe at the point of payment and used to send your order confirmation and download link.
  • Payment card details are processed entirely by Stripe and are never transmitted to or stored by Digital Human Assistants. We do not see or store your card number, expiry, or CVV.
  • A Stripe session ID, retained to verify payment and fulfil re-download requests.

Newsletter subscription (Signal)

  • Your email address — required to send the newsletter and manage your subscription.
  • Your name, role, and organisation — optional fields collected to help us understand our readership and tailor editorial content. These are stored alongside your email address in our subscriber database (Supabase) and are used for internal editorial purposes only.
  • A confirmation token used to verify your subscription via a double opt-in email.
  • An unsubscribe token to allow one-click unsubscription at any time.

Subscriber business profile (Chrome and Edge extension)

  • If you choose to provide them, the following optional fields: website URL, trading name, organisation type (business / sole trader / personal), country (ISO code, no city or address), industry/sector, and a short company description.
  • These fields are used solely to (a) personalise prompt and content suggestions inside the extension to your sector and audience, and (b) segment our newsletter and product emails by industry. They are stored alongside your account in our database (Supabase) and are not sold or shared with advertisers.
  • All business profile fields are optional. You can add, change, or remove them at any time from the Account panel inside the extension. Removing a field deletes that value from our database.

General usage

  • Standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These are used for security and operational purposes and are not shared with third parties for marketing.

3. How we use your data

  • To perform the URL audit and return results to you.
  • To analyse content submitted via the Chrome and Edge extension and return scores to you.
  • To create and authenticate your extension account, keep you signed in, and manage your subscription.
  • To show your audit history and improvement statistics in the extension's Insights panel.
  • To process your payment and verify it via Stripe.
  • To send your order confirmation email and the framework download link.
  • To allow you to re-download the framework using your original session link.
  • To send you the Signal newsletter (if you have subscribed and confirmed your subscription).
  • To understand our readership for editorial purposes — name, role, and organisation data collected at subscription is used internally and is not shared or sold.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the service.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties other than those necessary to operate the service (see Section 5).

4. Data retention

  • Audit URLs and page content — not retained. Discarded after the audit response is returned.
  • Chrome and Edge extension content submissions (URLs, text, documents) — not retained. Processed in real time and discarded after the score is returned.
  • Extension account data — email address, password hash, business profile, audit score history, prompt libraries, and feedback are retained while your subscription is active, and may be retained for a reasonable period afterwards for purchase records. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
  • Stripe session IDs — retained for as long as reasonably required to support download verification and purchase records. Stripe retains payment records subject to their own retention policy.
  • Email addresses (purchase) — retained only in connection with your purchase record. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
  • Newsletter subscriber data — email address, name, role, and organisation retained for as long as your subscription is active. Deleted upon unsubscription or upon request.
  • Server access logs — retained for up to 90 days for operational and security purposes.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate the product. Each has its own privacy policy.

  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe collects and processes your payment information. We receive a session confirmation but never your card details. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/gb/privacy
  • Anthropic Claude API — AI analysis. Content submitted for analysis — both URLs (via the web audit tool) and text (via the Chrome and Edge extension) — is sent to the Anthropic API to generate scores. Anthropic processes this data subject to their API usage policy. Anthropic's privacy policy: anthropic.com/privacy
  • Google Chrome Web Store — the Chrome and Edge extension is distributed via the Chrome Web Store, operated by Google. Installation and update data is subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not receive personal data from Google in connection with extension distribution.
  • Email provider (SMTP) — transactional email. Order confirmations are sent via SMTP. Only your email address and order reference are included.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any behavioural advertising trackers on this site.

6. Cookies

This site does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We do not use cookies for analytics. The only cookies that may be set are those required for the secure operation of payment sessions via Stripe, which are subject to Stripe's own cookie policy.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection law (including the UK GDPR and EU GDPR):

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format.
  • Objection — object to processing where we rely on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@digitalhumanassistants.io. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI DSS compliant. We do not store payment card data on our systems.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated via the site.
